My passion for somatic healing was born from my lived experience and strengthened through my professional training and work with others.
During my eating disorder recovery, I realised bulimia was the way I had unconsciously learned to soothe my anxiety and suppress unhealed trauma. After bingeing and purging, I felt instant relief - my mind slowed, my body unclenched, I could finally relax. In a way, it was a genius short-term survival strategy. But over time, as with all addictions, it was deeply harmful.
To heal, I needed to learn healthier ways to regulate my nervous system. I had already tried psychotherapy, counselling, journaling - all of which helped in some ways, but never reached the root. Because the truth is: stress, trauma, and anxiety live in the body.
This is where somatic therapy and practices changed my life. They gave me practical tools to self-soothe, regulate, and finally feel the feelings bulimia had been supressing; the fear, shame and anger. Today, bulimia is no longer necessary - my body has new, healthier ways to support me. And those are the very tools I now share with others.
Thereâs nothing mysterious about somatics. Itâs really the science of safety - and I believe everyone deserves to know how to regulate their nervous system.
Iâm so passionate about sharing this knowledge and these practices so that you, too, can heal and reconnect with the wisdom of your body.
You donât have to wait years like I did to start feeling better - healing can begin today...
