'Somatic' comes from the Greek word Soma, which means of the body. 

Stress and trauma don’t just live in the mind; they’re stored in the body, shaping how safe, calm, or connected we feel each day. That’s why effective, lasting healing must involve the body.

Traditional approaches often overlook this, focusing only on thoughts or behaviours. Somatic healing is the missing link; offering practical, body-based tools that help you regulate your nervous system, release stored tension, and restore a sense of safety from within.

Our mission is to make somatic healing simple, safe, and accessible. Through step-by-step, trauma-informed practices, we empower you to move beyond survival, build resilience, and create a kinder, more connected relationship with yourself.

Meet The Somatic Project founder:

Claire is a trauma-trained therapist, mindfulness & yoga teacher, and somatic educator. She has trained with leading experts in somatic trauma healing and now guides both individuals and groups in body-based practices for recovery and resilience. Her work has taken her to speak at events & conferences with domestic abuse survivors, charities, military personnel, & medical professionals, as well as appear on TV. 

Drawing on years of experience working with hundreds of individuals and groups, Claire developed the Somatic Self Healing method, based on the processes and practices she has seen transform lives.

At the heart of her work is a simple mission: to help people reconnect with their bodies with kindness and compassion, and to rediscover the innate wisdom and healing capacity within themselves.
